The small triangle symbol with arrows an unknown number, the words "earth" and "recycle," and even the color green make you think you're doing the right thing as a consumer, while single-use plastics are almost never recyclable. I have my own eco-guilt about my own negative contributions to environmental waste that I carry mentally. But that is what we are made to believe as individuals, when ultimately the solutions lie in the hands of those in power.
This piece sees my plastic waste as a wearable item, carrying the weight of my contributions to environmental degradation.
